About

Marketing Built on Trust. Visibility Built to Last.

I help professional service businesses become more visible, more credible, and easier to choose.

When your business is built on expertise, your marketing should do more than fill a social media feed.

It should help potential clients understand what you do, recognize your value, trust your expertise, and feel confident reaching out.

Through ShineRoot Collective, I combine strategic content, reputation management, and thoughtful digital marketing to help businesses build a presence that supports real business growth—not just more likes and followers.

Meet May Rosenlund

Before founding ShineRoot Collective, I spent more than a decade as a trademark attorney, helping businesses protect the names, brands, and reputations they had worked hard to build.

That experience shaped the way I think about marketing today.

Your reputation is an asset. Your expertise has value. And how your business is perceived can influence whether someone chooses you—or your competitor.

Today, I bring that same strategic mindset to digital marketing, helping professional service businesses communicate their expertise, strengthen their reputation, and stay consistently visible to the people they want to reach.

I don’t believe marketing has to be loud, manipulative, or exhausting to work.

It needs to be clear, credible, consistent, and connected to the goals of your business.

What I Believe About Marketing

You don’t need to be everywhere.

You don’t need to chase every trend.

And you don’t need to turn yourself into an online personality just to attract clients.

You need to be visible to the right people, communicate your value clearly, and give prospective clients reasons to trust you.

That’s the foundation of ethical marketing.

Teach instead of pressure.

I use your expertise to help people understand the problems you solve and the decisions they need to make.

Build trust instead of hype.

Your marketing should reinforce the quality of the work you’ve already earned a reputation for doing.

Be consistent instead of constantly creating.

A thoughtful, sustainable presence is more valuable than bursts of activity followed by silence.

Focus on relationships instead of algorithms.

The goal isn’t to win social media.

The goal is to build a business people feel confident choosing.

How I Can Help

I help professional service businesses turn their expertise into a stronger digital presence.

Social Content

I turn your expertise into content that keeps your business visible and top of mind.

Brand Storytelling

I help you show people the experience, personality, and values behind your professional business.

Educational Content

I make complex ideas easier to understand—and give potential clients a reason to keep coming back to you for answers.

Reputation & Trust

I help strengthen the credibility and confidence that can influence a prospective client when they’re ready to make a decision.

My services can include content strategy, social media management, SEO-focused content, visual content creation, review and reputation management, and ongoing optimization.

Everything I do comes back to one question:

Will this help the right people understand, trust, and choose your business?

How I Measure Success

I don’t believe successful marketing is simply about producing more content.

And I don’t believe follower counts tell the whole story.

Ultimately, professional service businesses need clients.

That’s why I look beyond vanity metrics and pay attention to the signals that connect marketing to real business opportunities.

Qualified Inquiries

Are more of the right people reaching out?

Consultation Requests

Are prospective clients taking the next step?

Website Traffic

Is your content bringing interested people to your website?

Reputation

Are reviews, testimonials, and other trust signals strengthening your credibility?

Quality of Prospects

Are the people finding you actually looking for the services you provide?

I can’t control whether someone ultimately hires you. But I can help create the visibility, credibility, and opportunities that make that decision easier.

Who I Work With

I work with professional service businesses whose clients are making important decisions—not impulse purchases.

I work especially well with:

CPAs & Accounting Firms
Attorneys & Law Firms
Financial Advisors
Consultants
Professional Service Firms
Other Expertise-Based Businesses

My best clients value their reputation, care about how they serve people, and want marketing that reflects the quality of the business they’ve built.

If you’re looking for shortcuts, viral tricks, or a constant stream of meaningless content, I’m probably not the right fit.

If you want a thoughtful marketing partner who understands that trust takes time to build but can influence decisions for years, you’re in the right place.

Why ShineRoot?

The name reflects the philosophy behind my work.

ROOT represents the foundation:

Strategy.
Clarity.
Consistency.
Reputation.

SHINE represents what happens when that foundation is strong:

Visibility.
Credibility.
Recognition.
Growth.

You can’t build lasting visibility without something solid underneath it.

That’s why I don’t start with:

“What should I post?”

I start with:

“What do you want to be known for—and why should people trust you?”

Then I build the marketing around that.

A Little More About Me

My background spans law, business, retail leadership, human resources, education, publishing, and digital content.

That combination gives me a perspective that goes beyond social media.

As a former trademark attorney, I understand the importance of protecting and communicating a brand.

As a former business and retail leader, I understand customers, employees, and the realities of running an organization.

As a content strategist and published author, I understand how to take ideas and turn them into clear, compelling communication.

And as the founder of ShineRoot Collective, I’ve brought those experiences together to help businesses become easier to find, understand, and trust.
